Fic In A Box 2024
Hi! Thank you for creating something(s) for me!
I like things gen or shippy, and shippy works can run from we’re in a relationship but focusing on plot to tooth rotting fluff made entirely of sugar and rainbows. I'm a total multi and poly shipper so I'm very open to pairings, threesomes, or moresomes if you're feeling shippy. Plot is welcome but totally not needed.
Likes:
Tropes are great played straight or inverted some I like are:
• character interaction
• fix-it fic
• casefic or the equivalent for the fandom
• coffee shops
• crack fic taken seriously or not
• soulmates
• telepathy (accidental or a normal part of the universe)
• sex pollen
• cuddle pollen
• curtain fic
• unusual reactions to pet names
• hurt comfort that’s heavy on the comfort.
• cuddling and snuggling especially with a side of touch starvation
• the soulmate goose (a goose the comes and encourages you to confess to your soulmate by being, well, an invulnerable goose with an interest in true love)
• the Untitled Goose Game Goose being horrible. (If I have not requested UGG, this is an okay for a crossover which introduces the Goose in whatever settings I have requested like an invasive agent of chaos.)
Any rating is fine but if you go E please keep them talking to each other or dealing with the emotional aspect of sex in some other way.
Extra characters from canon or OC’s that help the plot (shop keepers, citizens in need of saving etc.) are fine but not needed.
If you're doing art I like interesting colors and textures and am a sucker for strange medium choices or those questionable brushes at the bottom of every art program. Also pixel art. I grew up when all digital art was made of squares and it shows.
If you're doing poetry I appreciate rhythm and interesting rhymes and am not at all a stickler about everything having to be perfect when being slightly off perfect helps convey the meaning. And I'm a sucker for poetry with too many rules. Also bredliks, I don't know what it is about them that gets me, but they're hilarious.
If you're doing typography I like serif fonts better than sanserif ones most of the time.
If you're making a cross stitch pattern, I work in 14 and 16 count aida and like the textural changes you can get with half stitches and back stitching/mixing in black work. I don't love popcorning colors, but I understand that it's necessary for some pieces.
If you're doing knitting or crochet patterns I've been doing both for decades, what ever you can come up with I can do or find a tutorial on YouTube to teach me. I love lacework and filet crochet. I can do color work in both intarsia and fair isle but have a preference for intarsia in knitting. I work most often in worsted/size 4 yarns but am happy to be challenged by something smaller.
I love map keys and all the information you can pack into them. Also annotations and the inclusion of things that are important to the person who drew or owned the map even though no one else would include them.
Yes, I welcome extra treats.
Do Not Want:
• permanent character death
• sad endings
• second hand embarrassment
• hurt without comfort
• dark fic
• zombies - (Jason Todd's zombie jokes, and all the other canonical returns from the dead DC has, don't count for the purposes of this DNW)
• body horror
• Shipping Bruce Wayne with any of his kids.
• “you can see color when you meet your soulmate” (just that one all other soulmate versions I’ve run across are fine)
• infidelity/cheating
• teacher/student especially if the student is under age
• rape
• blood play, scat, watersports, vomit.
• hanahaki
• quarantine, serious illness (things that can be cured with chicken soup and TLC are fine)
• Video/animation DNW: strobing or repeated flashing
Pleases see my letter for Fandom Specific Notes.
Fandom Specific Notes:
(Please feel free to ignore my prompts if you have an idea of your own. Optional Details Are totally Optional.)
Star Trek: Alternate Original Series (Movies)
I like how the AOS characters changed both because of the time shenanigans that started the universe on a different path and because of the difference in society and technology between the 1960s and the 2010s. And also how Bones is the same damn curmudgeon in both.
I requested a lot of things in this fandom. Please be assured that I want all of them equally and am also just as interested in the worldbuilding as the characters, but these are going to be pretty generalized and if they aren't it's probably because I copied it from another letter.
• The missing "episodic" time between Into Darkness and Beyond
• Mission fic featuring your favorite of the nominated characters. Maybe having to deal with an alien species that speaks only in limericks?
• Halloween Episode
• Shoreleave (interupted by plot of the week)
• Shoreleave (successful but they're a little confused by that)
• How do they deal with an alien that's too powerful to really comprehend who just wants to dick around with them? Is that alien secretly a computer?
• Is this Jim Kirk as dangerous to Computers as the TOS version?
• Missing Fall because they're stuck on a Starship
• Found Family Moments
• Trying to date while at the Academy or onboard ship.
• Strange locations onboard ship or on an away mission.
• An alien planet that looks remarkably like Vasquez Rocks.
• The IDIC symbol, insignia badge variations, the Enterprise or any other symbols or insignia as charts/backgrounds/tilesets/icons.
• Anything that plays with the Red/Yellow/Blue color set and symbolism.
Teen Wolf (TV)
Every person on this show is a mess but most of them are trying to help, they're just all really bad at it until the season finale. But I love when they come together and try to solve problems instead of making them worse. (Feel free to also include the making things worse.)

• I'm always up for a new Monster of the Week
• It isn't actually possible to have enough hurt/comfort in this fandom
• Found Family Moments
• Variations on the idea of a Pack of Two/Alphaless Pack/Human Alpha/Someone else getting the Alpha Spark.
• Chris and Peter trying to get around the raised to hate you aspect of their realtionship.
• Chris and Peter having dated pre-fire.
• Non-Human Stiles reveals and what he is if it's not a werewolf.
• Kanima Jackson or post-Kanima Jackson.
• The triskelion and other symbols that appear.
• The nemeton as a location, background, or symbol.
• Anything that plays with the Red/Yellow/Blue color set and symbolism.
Star Trek: Lower Decks (Cartoon)
This show is brilliant and I love the focus on what should be the B plots of other Star Trek shows and characters we'd see for five minutes a season normally. It's great seeing how everyone really loves being in Starfleet but that comes out in so many different ways.

• An elaboration of any of Mariner's stories.
• Tendi and Rutherford geeking out about some piece of technobabel.
• An exploration of the fact that T'Ana is obviously a brilliant doctor who's seen literally everything and is on the Cerritos because no Captain wants to deal with her or her lack of filter.
• Mission fic featuring your favorite of the nominated characters. Maybe having to deal with an alien species that speaks only in limericks?
• Halloween Episode
• Shoreleave (interupted by plot of the week)
• Shoreleave (successful but they're a little confused by that)

DCU (Comics)
Superheroes! Who live in a world where mad science and magic are both out to get you! But this is fandom so we mostly worry about who's dating who. lol
I love when creators try to figure out how heroes can possibly manage a work/life/superheroing balance. Also when they throw that out the window like DC does and just pretends there's about 30 hours in a day.

• Trying to fit a hobby in on top of all of that.
• Barry, Bruce, Hal, Roy, or Tim geeking out about some piece of technobabel or new invention.
• Mission fic featuring your favorite of the nominated characters. Maybe having to deal with an alien species that speaks only in limericks?
• Vacation (interupted by plot of the week)
• Vacation (successful but they're a little confused by that)
• How do they deal with an alien that's too powerful to really comprehend who just wants to dick around with them? Is that alien secretly a computer?
• Found Family Moments
• Strange locations.
• An alien planet that looks remarkably like Vasquez Rocks. (Am I copying from the Star Trek lists? Yes. Am I leaving this one in on purpose anyway? Also yes.)
• Anything that plays with the heroes' different color sets and symbolism.
• Everybody but Lian Harper has a symbol it seems. Any symbols or insignia as charts/backgrounds/tilesets/icons.
• Or heck, give Lian a symbol. Have Roy freak out at Bruce about it.
Thank you again!
